De acuerdo a "The Tequila Lover's Guide to Mexico" por Lance Cutler, El Charro Reposado tiene los siguientes atributos: color amarillo ocre intenso, agave complejo con intensidad de moderada a macho, toques de pimienta blanca y cítricos; el primer sabor en alcanzarse es caramelo, seguido de cerca por agave, pimienta y roble; el regusto es medianamente dulce, con un toque de humo y un acabado dominantemente de roble.
